How to Transcribe Instagram Reels in Different Languages
Get an Instagram Reel transcript in its spoken language with automatic detection. See how transcription differs from translation and what to check in multilingual audio.
A Reel does not have to be in English to become a useful transcript. Video Script Extractor transcribes supported languages from the public video link and detects the language automatically.
The output keeps the spoken language. A Spanish Reel produces Spanish text; using the website in English does not turn that result into an English translation.
Start without choosing a language
Sign in, paste the public Reel link and select Get transcript. There is no language menu to configure. The service identifies the language from the audio, not from the post caption or the Instagram profile.
The transcription path uses Groq’s multilingual Whisper model. It receives the source audio without a manually selected language.
Understand transcription versus translation
Transcription writes down the words that were spoken. Translation expresses their meaning in another language. Video Script Extractor currently provides transcription.
For an illustrative Spanish phrase such as “Hoy comparto tres ideas,” the original-language transcript keeps those Spanish words. “Today I’m sharing three ideas” would be an English translation, which is a different output.
| Example speech | Transcript language | Output to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Spanish speech | Spanish | The spoken Spanish words, rather than an English translation |
| Chinese speech | Chinese | The spoken Chinese words, rather than an English translation |
Check unclear words against the audio
Background music and overlapping voices can hide part of a sentence. If a Reel has an interview over a loud soundtrack, compare the unclear passage with the original audio before quoting it.
Check names, numbers and unfamiliar phrases closely. For example, verify a product name instead of assuming an ordinary word with similar pronunciation is correct. Automatic transcription can make mistakes.
Review passages that switch languages
A speaker may use Spanish for most of a Reel and switch to English for a phrase or product name. Review the switched passage separately; a detected language does not guarantee every word is correct.
Compare that passage with the source and keep the speaker’s original wording when you quote it. Check the timing too if you plan to use the result as subtitles.
Download the original-language result
When the task is ready, download the transcript and subtitles. TXT, SRT and VTT use the same saved wording; changing the file format does not translate it.
